Did you know that one in five cancer patients leave Kern County for treatment? Worse yet, Kern County has one of the highest cancer rates of any region, both across the state and nation. Unfortunately, in the next 10 years, new cancer cases in Kern County are expected to double. 

At SJCH, we believe cancer is best fought on your home turf. As the only hospital-based cancer program of its kind in Kern County, the Cancer Center at SJCH will offer a comprehensive option for cancer diagnosis and treatment, all under one roof. Complete with radiation oncology and medical oncology, as well as an on-site surgery center, Kern County residents will be able to get world-class cancer care right here in Kern County amidst the support of family and friends and the comfort of home.

To ensure the excellence of our Cancer Center, we need to bridge a $5 million financial gap that exists between the funds provided by the hospital and the cost of the new facility.
