Accreditations and Certifications
Did you know that San Joaquin Community Hospital (SJCH) was the first hospital in Kern County to perform open-heart surgery in the early 1970s? Today, our pioneering spirit endures. In 2009, we became the first hospital between Los Angeles and Francisco to have both a Nationally Certified Stroke Center and Nationally Accredited Chest Pain Center.
As an acute care hospital, we are accredited and certified in multiple areas:
- SJCH and Home Care Services are accredited by The Joint Commission.
- The SJCH Stroke Center is certified as a Nationally Certified Stroke Center by The Joint Commission.
- The SJCH Chest Pain Center is accredited as a Nationally Accredited Chest Pain Center by The Society of Chest Pain Centers.
- Bariatric Soltutions is a recognized as a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence by the Surgical Review Corporation and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
- The SJCH Wellness Center is recognized by the American Diabetes Association as Diabetes Self Management Education Program.
